Dictionary search in popup

New
  • Dictionary Search (Pro/Pro+) — search any Japanese word or English term directly from the extension popup. See kanji, reading, JLPT level, part of speech, and multiple meanings without leaving your current tab.
  • Save from search results — one tap to save a looked-up word straight to your spaced-repetition vocab list.
  • Alternate forms — entries with multiple kanji or reading variants show all forms as chips below the primary result.
Improved
  • Vocab lookup rate limiting — per-user rate limits added to the lookup endpoint (30 requests/min) to ensure consistent performance.

Extension store hardening & remote config

New
  • Remote feature config — features and limits can now be updated from the server without publishing a new extension version. This means faster rollouts and zero Chrome Store submissions for most changes.
  • Version update banner — when the server signals a newer extension is available, the popup shows an "Update available" notice pointing directly to the store.
  • Content Security Policy — extension pages are now locked to script-src 'self' — no remote JavaScript can be injected or executed, ever.
Improved
  • Manifest description — rewritten to clearly state what the extension does and exactly why each permission is needed, reducing friction during store review.
  • System font fallbacks — the popup and settings page now fall back to native OS fonts (Menlo, Hiragino Mincho, Segoe UI) so the UI loads instantly even before custom fonts are available.
  • Permission justification — explicit API host entries added to manifest so reviewers see exactly which servers the extension contacts.
Fixed
  • External font CDN removed — popup.html and options.html no longer load Google Fonts from an external URL, eliminating a remote-resource policy flag.
  • Content scripts excluded from browser pages — scripts no longer attempt to inject on chrome://, edge://, or about:// URLs.
