Blue

Young plants in moonlight have an almost blue-green glow. The top strokes are the sprouting leaves; below is the moon (月). 青 captures that color exactly — the fresh, living blue-green of new growth under night sky. In Japanese, 青 covers both blue and green, especially the living kind.
